Hi Everyone - This is Patti. I wanted to send a little update on Matt because he hasn't really felt well enough to get on the computer lately. We went to see the gastric surgeon on Tuesday and he was quite insistent on Matt getting a "feeding tube" (they call it something else, but I'm not real good with the Medical terminology) anyway, he is having the tube inserted on Monday. Matt continues to drop weight and I have tried everything to get him to eat; however, he just can't seem to get ANYTHING down. He loses about a pound a day and his doctor is very concerned that he will continue to lose that much weight. Even though his treatments are complete the side effects will continue for a couple more weeks and that could mean an additional 14 pounds. Even though this additonal surgery made me a little uneasy considering how sick he has been lately, once I spoke with the doctors, I felt more at ease. I know something needs to be done, but it is a little scary because he has been so sick. Hopefully, this tube will be able to give him enough energy to get out of this slump and get him moving on to recovery. I'm ready to get my hubby back to his old self. I want you all to know how much you have all meant to us and how wonderful it is to have such caring and giving people in our lives. We truly are blessed. Love to All!!!

  1. Patti, thanks so much for the update. It sounds like you've made the right decision as your guy just cannot keep losing weight. Guess this is another 'battle' in the long war you've been fighting. I pray the feeding tube does the trick. God bless you all.
